Pethealth announces that it has completed a £3.5-million (C$7-million) acquisition of Pet Protect, a provider of pet health insurance in the United Kingdom, from Domestic & General Group Limited.

Pethealth Inc. has signed a marketing agreement with The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC. The 3-year partnership will see several of Pethealth’s industry-leading pet insurance programs offered in Stop & Shop and Giant Food stores beginning in the fourth quarter 2008. Stop & Shop and Giant Food customers will be able to buy these programs under their own private labelled Companion brand either by accessing Pethealth’s call centres via dedicated 1-800 numbers or by purchasing online at www.companionpets.com. Stop & Shop and Giant Food are owned by Ahold USA. There are over 375 Stop & Shop locations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. Giant Food has over 180 locations in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.


H-E-B Max Pet Insurance

Pethealth Inc. has entered into a 3 year strategic alliance agreement with H-E-B, a leading mass retailer based in San Antonio, Texas, with over 300 stores throughout the State. Pethealth has created a private labeled program which will be offered under  H-E-B's Max brand to pet owning customers of H-E-B in the State of Texas.
